To date, as seen by the document on PDF document earlier, I have been able to trace with any degree of accuracy back to around 1790. This is the approximate birth date of William Mosses, our great, great, great Grandfather. According to the 1841 census he was said to have been born in Burnley. However, the census showed him as a Tailor living at that time in Langthorne Sq, Clayton St, Islington, Liverpool. A Liverpool map of 1900 showed this as being approximately on the modern approach road to the Wallasey Tunnel. The census also shows him as having married Ann Mosses nee Griffiths. They had at that time 5 children; Edwin who was I believe my great, great Grandfather born 20.5.1839, Alexander born June 1830, George born June 1843, Anne born June 1845 and Edwin (again) born June 1850.

Edwin the first born was according to my reseach of the Births, deaths and Marriage on www.1837.com and to the the census of 1871 and 1881 my great, great grandfather. At one period in his life he was a Journeyman Shipwright. The census data showed that Edwin married Elizabeth Mosses nee Holden. At this time they lived together in 51, Mazzini St, Everton. They had five children: - Edwin (my great grandfather) born 6th September 1865, Annie born 1.12.1870, George born 1.12.1872, Amy born 1.3.1875, Elizabeth born 1.09.1877 and Mary Ellen born 1.09.1879

The 1901 census showed Edwin married to Sarah Mosses nee Hevey and living at 27, Cowl St, Everton; there is no modern map reference. They had 5 children, George Stephen Mosses (our grandad) born 9.12.1895, Edwin born 1.12.1893, Louisa Gertrude born 1.12.1897 , Herbert Dougla born 1.1.1900 and Elizabeth Eunice born 1.3.1901.

Grandad Mosses was born in Cowl St and married Lilian Mosses nee Mercer on 17.12.1921 in St Mary Liscard, Wallasey. Grannie Mercer was born at 6 Fidler St, St Helens. They had 7 children;

Stephen William, our dad born 17.1.1923 in Wallasey where Grandad and Gran had moved some time in the 1920's. George was born 1.9.1927, Frank 1.6.1931, Olive 1.9.1924, Audrey 1.09.1929, Harold 1.09.1933, Donald 1.9.1928 and Eileen 1.9.1925. Of those children only Harold, Donald and Audrey are still alive. My dad died 0n 21.12.2002 in Stourbridge, West Midlands.

My mother was born on 26.10.1924 in Seisdon, a village 5 miles from Wolverhampton. She was born to Evelyn Bull my maternal Gran. She died young on 22.10.1966 not long after my Uncle Tony' wedding.
